Andra Pradesh Medical Education Exemption of MBBS graduates to Compulsory Government Services as per G.O.NO:115 , AP Exemption of MBBS graduates to Compulsory Government Services as per G.O.NO:115 , AP Exempt MBBS graduates from the purview of ‘Compulsory Government Service making it mandatory for PG (Diploma and Degree) as per G.O.NO:115.
ORDER:
1.The Government have brought out the A.P. Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 2013 duly amending the A.P. Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 1968, making in mandatory for the candidates (MBBS / PG (Degree or Diploma) / Super Specialty) to complete the compulsory Government service for one (01) year, before getting registered with A.P. Medical Council. Consequent on bringing the Act into force , Government have issued Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (Compulsory Rural Medical Service and Compulsory Government Service, renewal of Registration, visiting or inspecting the hospital or Nursing Home or institution) Rules, 2013, vide G.O read above.
2.That during the course of discussions held with the HODs and other eminent medical professionals on the issue of “Compulsory one year residency ‘, majority of them have observed that MBBS shortage has been overcome by having more medical colleges in the state and also by reserving PG seats for tribal service, rural and urban service by MBBS graduates. Therefore, the option of 1 year compulsory service at this stage is no longer beneficial to Government.
3.The Government after careful examination of the matter, hereby exempt MBBS graduates from the purview of ‘Compulsory Government Service’ ,making it mandatory for PG (Diploma and Degree) and Super Specialists, before getting registered with AP Medical Council.
4. The Director of Medical Education, Andhra Pradesh shall take necessary action in the matter accordingly.
