In the reference read above, the Commissioner of School Education, Amaravathi, has stated that there is need to develop a system of E-governance for quick and prompt delivery of citizen services, enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and citizen-centricity in all its functions by deploying the Modern Management techniques and Information Technology. Further, the School Education Department shall co-ordinate with Andhra Pradesh State Fiber Net Limited (APSFL) for extension of infrastructure cabling to Schools. This needs to be done prior to installing virtual classrooms in order to achieve speeds not less than being provided to household consumers by APSFL. The same infrastructure will be used for pre-existing and upcoming digital classrooms as well. The Commissioner of School Education, Amaravathi has informed that the estimated cost for providing internet connection and infrastructure cabling to all the Schools in the State is Rs.80.00 Crores (approx.) including taxes and requested the Government to allocate the budget amount of Rs.80.00 Crores in the proposed State Plan Scheme 2017-18.

After careful examination of the proposal of the Commissioner of School Education, AP, Amaravathi, Government hereby agree in principle and accord administrative approval to provide internet and IT infrastructure in Schools and School Education Department as user Department which shall take ownership of the programme for which Rs.80 crores would be provided by the Finance Department to School Education Department additionally to meet the expenditure for this purpose through the Andhra Pradesh State Fiber Net Limited. The Andhra Pradesh State Fiber Net Limited (APSFL) would provide connectivity and arrange infrastructure as per norms.

The Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Fiber Net Limited (APSFL) and the Commissioner of School Education, AP, Amaravathi shall take further necessary action in the matter.
