AP RBSK NHM National De-worming Day programe to be conducted Schools from 31.08.2021 to 06.09.2021 Certain guidelines as per Memo.No.21

The attention of all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State is invited to the references cited and informed that, the National De-worming day is aimed at to Deworm all preschool and school-age children between the ages of 1-19 years through the platform of schools and anganwadi centers to improve their overall heath, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life and decided to conduct National Deworming Day programme from 31.08.2021 to 06.09.2021.
Further, the Government of India has directed to conduct Bi-Annual Deworming and National De-worming Day during the month of either August or September, 2021 to cover the children from 1 to 19 years. Accordingly, the HM&FW Dept., has conducted coordination and convergence meeting of all line departments i.e., school education, Intermediate Education, WD & CW Dept... Tribal Welfare Department, Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj etc., with Health Medical & Family Welfare Department for proper implementation of the programme.
In view of the above, all Regional Joint Directors of School Education and District Educational Officers in the State are requested to issue certain instructions to the field level functionaries to take necessary action in this regard
a. Headmasters/Teachers of all schools shall coordinate with the concerned officials of Health department.
b. Conduct awareness programmes to the students on National Deworming and encourage group discussions among the children about the necessity of the Albendazole 400 mg tablet. c. Headmasters/Teachers shall explain about the usage of Albendazole 400 mg tablets to the children to prevent de-worming during assembly time.
d. To administer the drug (Albendazole 400mg Tablet) on school working days in the schools and for those who have not attended the school, the drug is to be administered at home.
e. Administering the Albendazole 400mg tablet half tablet to the age group of 1 to 2 years and 400mg Albendazole 400mg tablets (chewable) to 2 years 19 years children/students.
f. Administration of Albendazole 400mg Tablets shall be administered to each child/student with clean and neat hands after the lunch only.
g. The drug should not be administered to the children suffering with fever or with any illness. Further, the drug administration should be done duly following the COVID protocols strictly.
All Regional Joint Directors of School Education, District Educational Officers and other concerned officials shall ensure strict enforcement of guidelines/ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) for all activities in the schools issued by the Union/ State Governments from time to time for strict compliance on COVID-Appropriate behavior such as Wearing of Mask, Maintenance of Social Distancing and Frequent Hand washing in the schools without fail.
